It's almost always fun to gather up your best buds and head out on adventure together, whether it's a girls' trip getaway or night out on the town in a big city. But sometimes doing things on your own is just as entertaining — plus, you don't have to worry about coordinating the time and place with others. That said, we've brainstormed some things to do by yourself that go beyond watching Netflix at home. Of course, it can be intimidating at first to do something on your own, but once you rip the bandaid off, you will feel even more confident than before.
In a study by the British Journal of Psychology, scientists found that highly intelligent people became less satisfied the more time they spent with friends. In other words, spending some quality time with yourself is good for your overall well-being and can lead you to discover new things about yourself. Feeling lonely is an isolating feeling, but if you practice doing things on your own more often, you can better cope with stretches of time when friends and family aren't around.
So, if you find yourself bored at home, try out one of these things to do by yourself — you may be surprised at just how much fun you're having with just yourself for company. 1. Go to a concert.
If an artist you love is playing a venue near you, buy yourself a ticket even if no one else wants to tag along. Going to a bar alone might seem like an unlikely thing to do, but it doesn't have to be. Instead of gathering up your best friends to meet for a night out, have a night out by yourself at your favorite local watering hole.
